About

Our Story

For nearly two decades, the Community Transformation Collective (CTC) has led a community-building movement to achieve long-term systemic change that improves the lives of marginalized communities. CTC has built a strong and active base of over 1,000+ community members and cross-sector organizations across the County of Los Angeles.

Our collective efforts engage over 10,000+ community members on a monthly basis. In 2025, CTC was formally incorporated as a non-profit organization to sustain our community-led model and infrastructure long-term.

Vision

All members of society are physically, psychologically, intellectually, and spiritually safe, secure, and empowered.

Mission

Catalyze individual and collective power for the self-determination of those most impacted by systemic failures to collectively achieve equity and social justice.

Our Purpose

CTC is a place-based, community-building movement made up of over 1,000 community residents and cross-sector organizational partners who work together to affect change in their region. With an initial investment from First 5 LA, this region includes the communities of East Los Angeles, Metro Los Angeles, South El Monte/El Monte, and Southeast Los Angeles.

The Collective supports community members to transform systemic conditions so that children, families, and neighborhoods can thrive. This systems change approach builds and cultivates transformational partnerships for the region to co-design, implement, communicate, mobilize, and evaluate strategies.
